Evelyn College of Design was started in Nairobi in 1976 as a pioneer design institution offering training in clothing construction, fashion and textile as well as interior design courses. Our focus is to provide an education of excellence for a career in the design field. We continue with dedication to prepare young people for the challenging world of business. Our rich heritage and responsiveness to changes in design practice has positioned Evelyn College of Design as a leading provider of fashion and interior design education across Africa.
The college ethos is centered on the development of creative ideas.
Its staff and students use historical and cultural practice to challenge social, political and ethical agendas.
This, combined with a forward thinking business and management portfolio and relationships with industry leaders, allows students to gain access to dynamic networks.
Evelyn College of Design was established to cater to the needs of the industry and to fill in the gap of trained manpower that existed in the industry. The college, by the virtue of its 4 decades of existence and a pioneer in the field of design education, has very strong industry linkages which facilitate not only academic collaborations but also proving jobs and internships to the students during and after completing their course. A very strong alumni base also makes it easier for us to foster strong ties with the industry.
We have spacious accommodation at our hostel in our college campus in Lavington. It is in an exclusive part of Lavington in serene and quiet surroundings, less than ½ kilometer from the bus stop in a secure, guarded compound.
We welcome enquiries from students and young professionals who are desirous of a conducive learning atmosphere and also tranquility.
