Evelyn College of Design (ECD) was started in Nairobi in 1976 as a pioneer design institution offering training in clothing construction, fashion and textile and later interior design courses were also introduced. We provide an excellent education for careers in the design field, preparing young people for the challenging and exciting world of today. Our rich heritage and our responsiveness to changes in design practice have positioned Evelyn College of Design as a leading provider of fashion and interior design education in Africa.

Evelyn college of Design was established in 1976 with the express purpose of creating a design Industry training the skilled manpower to allow it to become established.
By virtue of its 4 decades of existence and as a pioneer in the field of design education the college enjoys very strong industry linkages which facilitate not only academic collaborations but also providing jobs and internships to our students during and after completing their courses. A very strong alumni base also makes it easier for us to foster strong ties with the industry within which they operate.
